What a weekend!!!
Besides hiking on Saturday, we had a barbecue with some friends on Sunday. On Monday (Memorial Day) we had some fun in the City with some friends and then headed over to a Ward barbecue. We probably wouldn't of tried to go to the barbecue but I had invited a less active family who came and Tasha made a special effort to invite all of her classmates to the barbecue. She spent 2 days writing special homemade invitations. The only thing I did was stick in the flyer. We ended up being an hour and a half late due to our adventure in the City. No one is to blame but ourselves. Things always tend to take longer than expected. Tasha's friend Zia came with her family. Fortunately they didn't leave because of great ward members who made them feel SOOOO welcome. Many Thanks!!!! Another classmate named Cole also came with his family. Luckily after everything was said and done they still spoke to us and continue to associate with us. Everyone had a great time! As we drove home that night Tasha started to cry because only 2 friends from her class came. Little does she know what a great little missionary she is. Two of her friends actually came and you can't ask for more than that. We just need to count our blessings for any and every success! I think we might have tried to squeeze too much fun into one day but even though it was crazy it was a GREAT day!!!!!!

Kindergarten Fun Day
My little girl is growing up. Heaven knows we have had our challenges with Tasha but this year I have enjoyed watching her learn, grow, and mature. I wish at times I could push a pause button and stay in the moment. She has had a lot of changes take place this year with schools and our little family. She has overcome challenges with great strength and endurance.
With school has come much growth. She has been more willing to try new things and is starting to learn that it is ok to make mistakes. Mistakes are a part of the learning process. She loves reading, writing and drawing. She will often look at a page in a book and draw a picture that resembles it. She is learning the cello and has started to master many skills.
Tasha has a great ability to make new friends. She is very likeable. She has made a very close friend here in Greenwich named Zia that took her under her wing when we moved here. It made the transition easier for her to adjust to a new classroom setting.
Not only has she excelled in school but she has become a tremendous helper at home. Whenever Ty cries she runs to his rescue to take care of his demands. Without complaint she plays Spider man daily with Garrett. They are good little friends. Tasha is a GREAT big sister. Most days she does her chores without complaining. Recently we added a few more responsibilities. She seems to enjoy doing her big girl jobs. She also loves to help out in the kitchen. She is my little chef extraordinaire. She is a great daughter and a joy to be around. We love you Tasha!!!!
Here are some pictures from Kindergarten Fun Day
Her best friend Zia.
They are two peas in a pod
and completely inseparable.
The Pity Award
So our ward had an Adult Dance a few weeks ago. We decided we would go and get our GROOVE on, or at least try. Back in our dating days we would go Country Dancing. We were excited to see if we could remember any dance moves. Luckily Rob has a good memory because mine stinks.(The more kids we have the more brain cells I lose. I guess that means NO MORE KIDS!) Since he is the leader, following comes pretty easy. He has the hard job. I just go where he tells me to go (if he's lucky). We learned the Cha Cha and then had a dance competition. For the first time in our married lives we actually won something. We got second place in the dance competion. I tend to wonder if it was second place for the worst couple out on the dance floor. We may have gotten second place but I think the judges had pity on us (The PITY award). This picture is our only evidence of our accomplishment. I'm disposing of the award since Tasha is a pack rat and wants to keep everything she finds.
