2010 visit from G-ma & G-pa (Part 1)

Sunday walk at Todd's Point.

The Secret Garden

Beach Fun

A rainy day at the Bronx Zoo.

Garrett has had issues with the weather. He was nervous, but still managed to find his smile.

Even with the heavy down pours we managed to stay pretty dry. We even hit some dry periods that allowed us to see some outside exhibits.

Rocket Launch

We were lucky enough to hold 2 rocket launches this year. We were also fortunate to have Grandma and Grandpa Anderson and the Gibian family participate.

Here are the rockets. (Unfortunately we ran out of time to paint all the rockets. It's the Naked Truth, hence the name of the middle rocket. There is never enough time in a day!)

Stomp Rockets

Popsicles

Casualties: 3 people got stung by a bee. Tasha and Ty stepped on a bee. Andrew accidentally set his hand down on a bee. The bees hid in the clover. Thanks goodness for ice!

We lost all 3 rockets, BUT got about 15 launches. A record!!!

Can't wait until next year!

4th of July

Our 4th of July Weekend getaway almost didn't happen. Rob was called to be a juror on a trial the week before we planned on leaving. This meant the trial would be in the process and we wouldn't be able to leave. Luckily, the judge said we would have Monday off to celebrate the fourth. We could still escape for a short weekend BUT were hoping for a much needed long weekend getaway. I was holding out hope that by some miracle the judge would decide to give everyone Friday off as well. On Wednesday I received a call from Rob. The judge decided not to hold court on Friday.

Our weekend getaway was on. We had a day to pull things together but we made it happen. Our friends the Jessee's were sports about our indecisiveness and prepared for our arrival Thursday night.

On Friday we went blueberry picking.

Rocket Launch

We started out with 4 rockets.

We said our goodbye's.

Get Ready!

Get Set!

Go!

On the hunt for our fallen comrades.

We left with 4 rockets. No casualties! A first!

Saturday we were off to a Fourth of July parade and...

... a fireman competition.

Burke Lake State Park

The day ended with a remarkable display of fireworks.

Sunday was our CHILL day!

CHILLING and COOKING!

Our last stop was Great Falls National Park on Monday.

Thanks for a great weekend. We can't wait to do it again!
