This year (without any coaxing from our end), the kids were bound and determined to catch a leprechaun. They set up traps all over the house.
We decided to have a WEE bit of fun with them this year:)
On St. Patrick's Day we discovered that we had indeed had some visitors. Their traps had been destroyed. None of their shiny treasures had been taken except for a shiny penny.
The leprechauns made a huge mess as you can see from the books scattered all over the floor...
...to magazines in disarray...
... the shoes were no longer put away, but carelessly thrown all over the stairs.
...Tasha's clean folded clothes lay all over the floor...
...the stuffed animals were no longer in the basket where they belonged...
...we even had green milk...
...we also discovered a message from those naughty little leprechauns...
...and wouldn't you know it but those tricky little leprechauns left some gold for a few wee youngsters.
Better luck next year:)

The little note is the best. You can't beat the sweetness of that.
